The Natural Park Upper Vogelsberg is situated in the centre of Germany in the middle of Hesse!
The big traffic arteries (ICE, motorways etc.) lead to its outskirts without crossing it. Therefore it remains an island of silence. So people who live in big industrial centres (like the Rhein-Main-Centre) happily spend their week-ends in the mountains.
